With the previous version of Plex server, I had the scan frequency set to every 15 minutes, now I have it reduced to daily. they ramp up to 100% speed when this process is doing whatever it is doing. I can tell it is happening by listening to my CPU and case fans. It seems to go in spurts, high usage for about 10 seconds, then nothing for a few seconds.
